EZ Farms & Fish... Unique, Practical Aquaponics for You

Do you enjoy a healthy diet including fresh organic vegetables and fish?
American Heart Association recommends: "A healthy diet and lifestyle are your best weapons to fight cardiovascular disease." "Vegetables and fruits are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber -- and they're low in calories. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables may help you control your weight and your blood pressure." "Eat fish at least twice a week."
American Cancer Society recommends: "Eat 5 or more servings of vegetables and fruits each day." "Limit intake of processed meats and red meats." "Choose fish, poultry, or beans instead of beef, pork, and lamb."
In addition to promoting health, a fish and vegetable diet can reduce your carbon footprint.
Do you know where your fish and vegetables have been? Increasingly, the fish and many of the vegetables we eat have been imported from other countries. According to a recent report from the US Department of Agriculture: "Presently, more than 70 percent of the seafood consumed in the United States is imported, and at least 40 percent of that is farm-raised." In 2008, Americans consumed almost $14 billion worth of imported seafood and more than $17 billion worth of imported fruits and vegetables. About 16 percent of our imported seafood comes from Canada, but of the rest the vast majority of comes from Central and South America (predominantly Chile), Southeast Asia (Thailand), and increasingly from China. There are growing health concerns about some of these sources and the level of regulation and inspections provided by the US Food and Drug Administration to assure our safety. Would you like
  • to grow your own fresh healthy organic vegetables and fish?
  • to do it in a natural, self-sustaining fashion in a compact space in your own backyard or even inside your home?
  • to spend as little as five minutes a day doing it?
  • and to provide for yourself and your family a source of delicious foods you know for certain are healthful and free from adulterants, pesticides, other chemicals, and antibiotics?
Yes, this could be you! ...taking a holistic approach to health and feeding your family by harvesting fish from your personal aquaponic farm. With a space as small as 6' by 8', you can have fresh salads every day and fresh fish every week. With a slightly larger space you could even produce organic produce and fresh fish to sell, or feed the neighbors!
Anyone can do it! Only moderate effort is needed, putting farming within the reach of everyone, regardless of ability, disability, or age. There is no bending or stooping, and the farms can be accessed by wheelchair.
